Hawaiian Moss Christmas Wreath from Google.
When we were kids we used to look for them to decorate our church during Christmas. Some Sunday School teachers would even make Christmas wreaths with a large bundle of this fern. They looked quite pretty at first but after a few days they will turn brown. We never got to know the name in Chinese, but we just call it Ma Ni Chou. It is a kind of moss.

The Chinese sinseh will say that they are called " Cross Mountain Dragon" or "Bone Grass".

Medicinally, this fern can be filtered and used in Traditional Chinese medicine against rheumatism, hepatitis and dysentery.

A poultice made from the fern can be applied topically to bruises, scalds and burns.

Mixed with vinegar it is used to treat skin eruptions and abscesses.

Some people in the ancient days used the dried ferns to stuff cushions.
